In this episode, we explore the effect that victim blaming can have on a person. As Amber receives some help from friends, she’s scared of what Bill might say or do if he finds out. She also reminisces about her upbringing, and how her Mom pushed the idea of needing a romantic partner that would provide for her. At school, she hears friends talking stink about girls that date, calling them derogatory words. This has given her mixed messages about dating, and what type of relationship she should want. Even the media holds negative views about women, and blames them for staying in abusive relationships.
